For Laura and Bryce, their big day was all about celebrating their 13 years of love with their nearest and dearest – all the while throwing an epic party in the gorgeous Byron Bay hinterlands.
“Our three main priorities for the wedding were food and alcohol, a good live band and a photographer,” said the bride, who mentioned she’d discovered the talented Shane Shepherd amongst the Hello May pages. “Shane is so personable and has such a great way of making you feel at ease and like you’re just hanging out with mates.”
When it came do finding the perfect place for their big day, the couple set their sights on Ewingsdale Hall, whose gorgeous green outdoor space, and intimate yet accommodating hall ensured a good time was had by all. “Despite the rain on the day and the fact the ceremony had to be moved inside, we ended up preferring this outcome so much more as it created a really intimate atmosphere,” said the bride who rocked a stunning Theia Courture from The Bridal Atelier.
As far as funny memories of their day went, there were certainly a few stand outs – like the fact that the Byron Bay Triathlon was held on their wedding day…”We’d talked to the organisers and informed guests of the times and restrictions but of course a couple of the boys completely forgot and got caught out.” In the end the boys rode bikes through the triathlon to the police station, “The police then gave them a lift up the road to ensure they’d make it on time to the ceremony, which luckily they did!” Phew!
