Jill and Jay’s laid back wedding has us wishing we were there dancing in the rain with them! Having been together for the past 13 years, their day was less about solidifying their together-ness, and more about having an epic party with all their favourite people; or as Jill would tell you, “We just wanted an excuse to use the strobe light Jay’s Dad bought us from Aldi for $50!”

Any excuse will do, and we have to agree, their day (captured by our talented buddy Alex Marks) was one awesome shindig, Jill adding one of the big surprises of the day was announcing the sex of their bub on the way! “I was 5 months pregnant at the time of our wedding and only announced it on social media the morning of the wedding because I thought we’d better let guests know we haven’t seen for a while before they see me waddle down the aisle…At the end of Jay’s speech he announced to the guests that we were having a baby girl until then only our parents and siblings knew what we were having.”

Their engagement was a relaxed two years, the pair mentioning it took at least a year for them to decide on where and when they wanted to get hitched. They ended up settling on Jay’s family home which was built by his parents. “The style of the house really set the vibe and atmosphere we wanted for the wedding nothing felt over the top, too planned or too pretty.”

Jill discovered Grace Loves Lace on Instagram and decided to fly up to their showroom in QLD for the day with her mother and sisters. “I had a few dresses in mind, but as soon as I tried on the Tara dress I fell in love with it…The ladies at GLL were so helpful and looked after us so well, we were in and out in an hour and a half. It was the first and only Bridal boutique I went to.”

The highlights of their day? “Ric and Kate from Cut and Run Pizza were absolutely fantastic. People are still raving about how good their pizzas were.” Not to mention the stunning shots of this loved up (soon to be trio) in the gorgeous Australian landscape. Loving Alex’s photographic work?
