Because Jess was marrying a European, she knew that they’d need to give plenty of warning to their guests, many travelling internationally to attend their wedding. Despite the pressure, the couple tells us they took a casual approach to the wedding planning process.

“From the moment we started to plan the wedding, we wanted to make sure we never lost sight of the true meaning of our wedding our wedding is the day we are marrying our favourite person in the entire world and sharing that special moment with those close to us.”

Held in the Kangaroo Valley, Jess and Erik wanted to create a fun and relaxed vibe surrounding themselves with nothing but stunning views and serene bush sounds. That’s where Brogers End came in.

“We chose a venue which had a lot of character, was in a location which had a lot of meaning for us, and that meant we had the place to ourselves for the entire weekend,” explains Jess, who was pretty stoked to find wedding dress shop Hope X Page on Instagram.

“When I tried on my dress, I knew I had found the dress just like they always tell you. You know the one when you try it on,” she tells us though that wasn’t the only amazing vendor experience this pair had. Photographer Free the Bird, ring maker extraordinaires Grew & Co and Hello May 3rd birthday party DJ We Play Records got involved as well.

Held over three days, this Aussie-Euro wedding continued on despite some bad weather and was truly one to remember. Jess and Erik tell us that the best advice they’d got was to take a moment, just the two of them, to ‘soak it all in’ and appreciate the day – which, they tell us, makes a huge difference.

“Just after dinner, we went for a quick walk outside across the paddock and looked back at the shed and the fairy lights and all the guests enjoying themselves. It was exactly what we have envisaged and it was a special moment that the two of us could share, uninterrupted.”
