A mere 20 minutes after buying Ann a 1920’s vintage engagement ring, Frankie couldn’t contain his excitement and popped the question. Catching Ann completely off guard, Frankie really surprised the heck out of her so a celebration was in order. (Duh!)
“After all the crying and laughing we were on a high and decided to go out and celebrate by eating fried chicken, we both really love fried chicken.” That being said, when it came to choosing their venue, it really only came down to one thing: food. Thus Biota Dining, just an hour from Wollongong, was the obvious choice.
“Our favourite pastime is eating, and Biota offered an amazing range of food stations and canapû?s that were too good to give up. When we reviewed the menu for the event, we both studied it for a few moments and said yes please!’ to everything,” explains Ann, who envisioned a modest and timeless vibe for her day, her favourite detail being the stationery by the talented Mr. Kevin Tran, who also happened to be Frankie’s best man.
“He was actually the person who introduced us, so I was only fitting for us to ask him to create our invites. He both knew us well so we gave him a briefing and we left him to avidly work his magic.”
With a bucketload of awesome vendors, like photographer Jason Valler and florist Wild Blossom Flowers on their side, the bride was able to focus on other important things – like finding a flawless fashion statement for the day, and that she did thanks to Karen Willis Holmes.
“I tried on many dresses in all sorts of styles and shapes; I was always drawn to the idea of sequin dress. I really fell in love with the Anya gown by Karen Willis Holmes, it was simple and yet so elegant I was so happy with how it all turned out and I absolutely loved my dress on the day.”
