Boy do we have a massive couple crush on Maggie-Anne (or Max to her pals) and Guy. These two bucked tradition at every turn and planned a day that was unique to them. No carbon copy of a wedding we’ve spied on Pinterest a thousand times here folks, just two creative cats, celebrating with the ones they love the most (with a hefty amount of good food and great wine thrown in for good measure). Now go soak up all the pretty snaps by Brown Paper Parcel and words from the bride below…

THE VENUEWe also chose the food before anything else. We were more than delighted when Matt  & Jo (formally of Oakridge Winery fame) said they would cater the wedding. So off we went trying to find a venue which has a kitchen and would allow you to do your own catering. Let’s just say the options are  very-very few in Melbourne. Once we spoke to Cassie at Firecracker HQ and told her the kind of wedding we wanted to have and that Matt and Jo would be catering she was amazing. It ended up being the best decision because she introduced us to some of our other vendors too”.

THE VIBE “We basically just wanted to have a long lunch with all of our closest friends and family.  A way to share our love with our guests and thank them for being a part of our lives. A  big motivation was a really easy and fun and delicious day for our guests. A day where  they didn’t have to travel too far or stand around waiting too long”.

THE DRESS “I guess, like every girl, I always imagined the dress would be such a huge focus. But in the end I found myself far more excited about the food, the styling, the music and spending time with my family and friends. I found an off the rack dress from Toni Maticevski that I fell in love with, when I just started to think I might not have a wedding dress at all”.

A WORD OF ADVICE “Have the day that makes you happy. It’s really a rabbit hole if you start listening to what  everyone else thinks. Trust your instincts”.

STANDOUT VENDORS “I could not sing the praises more highly for Jess Tremp from Brown Paper Parcel and Annie Molenaar from Celebrant Lady Love. Absolute professionals and all  extraordinary at what they do”.
