Y’all might recognise these gorgeous faces from our Issue 25 cover. Photographed by the one and only Scott Surplice Photography, Naomi and Rowan’s South Coast wedding was the cruisy backyard wedding of our dreams come to life. Plus who doesn’t love a wedding that includes so many of our fave vendors. Sydney bridal boutique Hope X Page cracks a mention, as does everyone’s favourite DJ, The Vintage Stylus as well as Design Patrol Films and hair and makeup artist to the stars, the lovely Samantha Lee. The lads? All decked out by the legends at Joe Black. But we’ll stop right here and let the bride and groom fill you in on the rest, shall we…
THE PROPOSAL “Rowan proposed to me on our baby-moon in the Blue Mountains. I was about six months pregnant sitting in front of the fireplace when he dropped his knee. At first, I didn’t think he was serious because we have a very playful relationship, but then he pulled out the ring and from memory the first thing I said was “shut up” and I started crying.”
THE VIBE “Our wedding theme was beautiful yet simple with lots of natural earthy tones incorporated into all aspects. We both live a very natural lifestyle so this was a perfect reflection of that for us. The overcast day made it even more romantic than what we were hoping for and the day could have not been more perfect.”
THE DRESS “My dress was surprisingly easy for me to find. It was from a shop in Caringbah called Hope X Page. It was the first and only store I went to looking for a dress. I met the lovely shop owner Alex who was very caring and attentive to what I was looking for.”
RESOURCES “Hello May! My all-time favourite bridal magazine for all the inspo! The Wed Shed and through Instagram scrolling!”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our wedding photographer, Scott Surplice, and our cinematographer, Matt from Design Patrol. The pair worked really well together and made us feel really relaxed on the day. We weren’t always sure what the weather was going to do but the guys worked their magic anyway. They were always easy to deal with in the lead up to the big day. Along with them, I would have to say my make up artist, Samantha Lee, was exceptional and made all the girls look beautiful. And lastly the The Vintage Stylus DJs catered to what we were wanting and made it a point to have music played on our day that matched our style.”
