These lovebirds (who already have two gorgeous kids) got married on their ten year anniversary and in a beautiful ceremony and reception, decked out with countless styling ideas and blooms to boot! Photos were taken by the talented Janneke Storm, friend and HM Directory vendor, so scroll down for all the incredible pics and details from the bride and groom, of course…
THE VENUE “When we started looking into venues, we found that many of them came with their own catering and stylist. We really wanted a blank canvas so that we could choose our own set-up, using our own stylist, Danielle of Til Death Events. We also had our hearts set on Greenhouse Canteen doing our catering. Ardeena was the first venue we saw, and we knew instantly that was where we wanted to get married. The picturesque scenery and the entire space is beautiful. We also loved that they welcomed our kids because Mia and Dallas both played such an important part in our day.”
THE VIBE “We wanted our wedding to be a complete reflection of who we are and what we love, so we went for an intimate, minimal, and organic feel. We incorporated a lot of natural elements like raw timber, dried palms, flora and crystals. We also brought our plants and a few special trinkets from home with us. Our food was wholesome and completely plant-based. It felt like we were having a big dinner party at our home, which was exactly what we wanted.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “We loved how our invitations (by Little Peach Co. ) were letterpressed and all of our stationary – including the invitations – were printed on heavy cotton paper, that was individually hand torn. We also loved all of the flowers and floral arrangements that Nesst created. I loved the bouquets so much that after our wedding, I dried them out and two of them are hanging up on our walls at home. We gave our guests rose quartz and citrine crystals as wedding favours to represent love and abundance. We loved that every single crystal varied in the way it felt and looked.”
THE DRESS “My dress was custom made by the amazingly talented Jen, of Jennifer Gifford. Jen’s shop was the first one we visited and when Jay and I walked in we felt so comfortable – we instantly connected with her! I had a specific idea in mind for the design of my dress, so I wasn’t sure I would find it. But when I tried the sample dress on, that was it. I thought I would be looking for months! I asked Jen to customise it by changing a few things and she was so accommodating! I really loved going to see Jen. She’s so humble and personable, I can’t recommend her enough!”
A WORD OF ADVICE “We never knew how much we needed a wedding planner until we got one. The whole planning process was entirely stress-free because Dan of Til Death Events went above and beyond for us to make sure everything went to plan. With two small children plus running a small business, it would have been so hard for us to be able to manage every little detail that goes into planning a wedding. And there are a lot – many things we didn’t even think of. She co-ordinated and styled everything – we are so grateful to have had her! Our advice is, hire yourself a Danielle! Haha.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “We are both so happy that we stayed in an Airbnb together with our bridal party prior to our wedding. We were there for two nights, the first night it was just us two, so it was amazing to have some quality time together. The second night, the bridal party came to stay and we all went out to dinner. In the morning we hung out and got ready together. Jay didn’t see me in my dress until I walked down the aisle – we kept that a surprise.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Danielle (Til Death Events) always went above and beyond for us. She took the time to get to know us and we could call her at any time of the day and she was always there. We felt like she was kind of like our therapist too! She’s so genuine and real. Jaden (of Marc Media) is a total legend and one hell of a videographer. Jaden drove two hours to hand deliver our wedding video and watched it with us for the first time. He captured every moment! Janneke Storm, our photographer, is so amazing. We really connected with her! We feel so lucky that we get to hold onto all of these precious moments that she so beautifully documented for us! We also really connected with Erin Woodhall, our celebrant. She’s just so easy to talk to and our guests loved her. She made us feel so comfortable when we felt so nervous!”
