Having been featured many-a-times on Hello May, The Sisters may ring a bell as one of Sydney’s most talented floral teams. Most recently having created the epic green wall at our third birthday party, florist Yvonne has gotten hitched and we’re so excited to share her big day with you all.
First seen on the Hello May blog back in September, Yvonne and, partner, Aaron envisioned a minimal, green-filled wedding day, so naturally The Grounds of Alexandria was the perfect location. “The whole Grounds vibe was exactly what we wanted, everything about it we loved,” explains Yvonne, who admits she may be a little biased about her favourite detail.
“The flowers of course!!! The Sisters unique style added so much to the reception. They are such a personal florist, every wedding is different and I love that. They made it everything we hoped for and more.”
A creative at heart and nontraditional to boot, Yvonne rocked a custom Nelder Jones gown along with a veil-turned-cape. “I’m not a fan of the ol’ veil, but I loved the look, so I thought why don’t I just attach it to the dress – so the cape was created! The cape is so beautiful, it’s all hand beaded with gold thread and the loveliest stone, crystal and pearl beads.”
Captured by Kait Photography, this day was overloaded with love, blooms and super special moments… like when the newlyweds stepped out for a quick break to take everything in and overlook their nearest and dearest having a ball.
“It was so nice having that moment with him. I think it’s really important too; the day flies and is such a blur, special moments like that you never forget!”
