After being together 11 years it’s no surprise that, for Kerry and Graeme, marriage means not constantly being asked by people when they’re getting hitched (first featured in issue 13). £You can imagine how many people asked us that! Marriage for us is just a chance to continue what we’ve been doing for a long time. Just being. Just hanging out. Doing what we’ve done for 11 years. Exploring the world. Establishing our home. Making new memories. Babies (humans and dogs)!
Held at Farm Vigano, this couple aimed to create a day inspired by their venue, a 1930s restored Italian house with loads of charm. £It had the perfect combination of indoor and outdoor, is incredibly unique and has an unrivalled vine. It felt like someone’s home. It’s welcoming, relaxed and very charming all in one. Well-known for its magnificent food, both in its quality and quantity (they’re feeders!), which was super important to us (we didn’t want our guests to leave hungry), this venue started to become our benchmark and nothing ever beat it. Nothing came close, explains Kerry, whose favourite details from the day included her leopard print heels and the kids’ area for the seven children in attendance on the day.
£I spent a huge amount of time researching how we were going to keep them entertained! My mom’s a school teacher, so I was able to borrow many toys, dress up costumes, games and books for them to play with. I also decided to set up a teepee with some cushions for them and created an activity box for each child, complete with bubbles, a lolly bag, a colouring in book, Play-Doh, crayons, some pom poms and a drink bottle!
It’s safe to say that maybe things were, in fact, all fun and games for Kerry and Graeme, who didn’t let themselves take things too seriously, like their hilarious first dance. £We danced to Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac (one of our all-time favourite bands) and had practised regularly in our lounge room in the weeks before the wedding. Because my dress was quite tight, but I couldn’t practice in it, I totally underestimated how limited my movement would be! So, when it came time to bust out our dance moves, I couldn’t move my leg anywhere near as far as I had done in our lounge room dance sessions! We ended up shuffling instead, the couple tells us, adding that their first look with photographer Luke Going was a standout moment for sure.
£He is an absolutely incredible photographer. Working with him and his wife, was fantastic. The quality of Luke’s photos speak for themselves. When we received our photos we were absolutely blown away. Every time we looked at them, we discovered something new, and we loved them more and more.
