You might remember Joni and Nick from way back when we featured their engagement by Hello May faves The Robertsons – and now they have stolen our hearts yet again with their gorgeous New South Wales wedding.
After orchestrating an extravagant proposal inside Sydney’s Opera House, Nick helped Joni, the owner of photography and styling business Chasing Arrows create their dream day at Summerlees Estate – a 19th century property located an hour south-west of Wollongong.
Together, with the help of some very good friends and family, they took on some serious DIY jobs. Sixty wooden candle sticks, 80 place cards and all the wedding signs, stationery, table runners and bunting were handmade by Joni and her band of merry helpers. Some things that they did buy however, included a cute cake topper from From The Owl, jewellery from Samantha Wills and flowers from Affair With George.
Captured by photographer Ben Adams, this was one reception we wish we’d been at. Joni tells us “when I sung a song during the reception to my husband, I just looked at him the whole time and it felt like the rest of the room had disappeared. Then when he ran up and hugged me after and the room exploded with a standing ovation, that was pretty rad.”
Of her stunning Pronovias gown and hair piece from Bo & Luca Joni says, “I always had a rough idea of what I wanted and went to about three stores before walking into Marry Me bridal in Mosman. I got butterflies in my stomach from how much I was in love with it, so I knew right then and there it was the one, it was perfect in every way.”
