It’s unlikely we’d find a pair more joyful than Emmylou and John if we tried. Each of these breathtaking images by photographer Joseph Willis shows how truly pumped they both were to be getting married and that alone, fills us with a whole lot of happy.
Held at Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery in South Australia they certainly had plenty of things to smile about. For Emmylou, it the was the locally sourced flowers arranged by her Aunt and the props provided by the Old Refinery, while for John (we’re guessing) it was no doubt Emmylou herself who looked stunning in a custom made gown by Gold Coast dressmaker Yvonne Tan and anklets by Forever Soles.
“My dressmaker was completely on the same page as me, and created my exact vision!” says Emmlou who was also grateful to everyone who chipped in on a number of home projects.
“Our whole family got involved with the DIY my brother and his lady sewed 120 napkins; my Mum made the wreath chandeliers; my Grandfather saved 100 glass bottles to be hung around the venue filled with candles and a handful of us made the name cards and bonbonniere.”
Talk about team effort! “There were hundreds of flowers, fairylights and candles everywhere, and a rockabilly band that set the scene for the evening”, says Emmylou who in hindsight, wouldn’t change a thing.
