Despite her occasionally dry sense of humour, deep down Dalyce from Issue 10 takes marriage quite seriously. £Marriage is two single people dying,” she says sarcastically, quoting our hero, Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation fame. £But honestly it’s the most magical stage of my life. Sometimes I pinch myself because I literally feel like I’m living in a fairy tale. I’ve truly found my best friend. The one I connect with mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually.—

Originally from Canada, her vision was to create an environment that was £industrial but pretty— and Osteria in northern New South Wales provided the perfect framework. £I absolutely loved the venue. I rented a hanging chandelier with 200 mason jars and it made the room. It was incredible.—

The flowers, arranged by a family friend, were also one of Dalyce’s favourite details. £I was absolutely obsessed with my flowers. My eyes welled up and I screamed a little when I saw them. They were perfect. I had seen billy buttons for the first time at The Grounds of Alexandria about two years ago and I essentially planned everything around them. The grooms suit colour, the bridesmaid dress colour, everything.—

The bunting, made by her mother, the planter boxes, built by Blake’s uncle and their burgundy kombi, courtesy of Retro Rentals also added a little razzle dazzle to their eclectic theme but for Dalyce the day was less about the decorations (although Little Grey Station and Collector and Co did provide some pretty awesome ones) and more about her friends and family. £The morning of the wedding was pretty amazing—, says Dalyce who wore an embroidered lace dress with a chiffon overlay by Mori Lee.

£We had a cafe breakfast and then just got ready at home. My childhood friends were here from Canada so we drank champagne and danced and sang along to David Guetta. But walking towards Blake was amazing. I don’t actually remember anything but his face. He was totally crying and when I finally got to him all of our guests clapped for us.—

Following the ceremony and a playful portrait session with photographer Paul Bamford of Finch & Oak, Dalyce and Blake joined their guests at the reception. Here people laughed, ate and drank before fully committing themselves to the dance floor. £Everything went so smoothly! It was an overall joyous day. Full of laughs.—
