Once upon a time there was a woman named Tahlia. She met a man named Chad and together they created a beautiful girl, Venice and one of the most epic weddings we’ve ever seen.
There were skulls and glitter and feathers and lights, flowers and ribbons and flags – a chaotic mix of ornaments that worked perfectly to create an eclectic, mexican inspired day that reflected the fun-loving couple perfectly.
Tahlia, a part-time millinery and accessory designer, spent months scrolling through Etsy stores and creating her own DIY additions, including a wooden plank swing, hand-written tags and oversized dreamcatchers while Chad was left in charge of brewing beer. The beginning of their happily ever after would not have been complete however, without the help of a few very special folks.
Jennifer from Jennifer Gifford Designs, the lady behind Tahlia’s beautiful gown, “got her vision instantly”, said Tahlia who had searched endlessly for THE dress. “Her professional but casual and creative manner made me feel at ease… and it was a dream to wear” she told us. If you’re unfamiliar with Gifford’s gowns you may have heard of her other venture, The Brides Market, featured in issue four of Hello May, which just so happens to be on sale now!
We also can’t forget to mention the lovely ladies from Twig & Grace. Tahlia’s vision to create “a sensory feast that was warm and inviting” was effortlessly brought to life by these creative minds, who spend their time creating beautiful bouquets. We think they did an outstanding job!
There’s a lot we love about this wedding, from the fusion of colours to the vintage shell chandeliers, and we’re so grateful that Shane Shepherd was there to capture it all. This man is one of our personal faves, and you can see why by clicking here and here. A true gentleman, he certainly knows how to take a happy snap!
