Engaged for just about 15 months, Laura and Eliza say that they started “chipping away at things almost straight away so it seemed to go very quickly.” Though, initially, the pair had different ideas of what they wanted for their big day, they eventually landed on Quaama Community Hall as the location for their nuptials.
“It sounds kind of wanky to say but growing up in the country shaped me into the person I am today and I wanted to share the beauty and community that the wonderful town of Quaama (and surrounds) had to offer with all our guests. I was absolutely honoured to have our wedding in such a special place,” explains Laura, adding that the most important aspect of their day was having all the amazing people in their lives come together to celebrate love!
“We wanted something relaxed, fun and intimate with an emphasis on delicious wine and champagne, great local produce (Tilba cheese, meat from family friend’s farm, local honey) and the type of tunes that get everyone on the dance floor and keep them there!”
While the pair agrees that choosing a favourite element from the day is just too difficult, they agree that Scott Surplice Photography was undoubtedly the right choice. “He is amazing and it was great to have him part of the day. The photographs capture the day perfectly.”
While Laura and Eliza say that it was an amazing sense of happiness and love to have all of those people who they love come together and have a great time, it was their take on the meaning of marriage that really stuck with us here at Hello May.
“Marriage means a commitment to each other and being able to laugh, love and get blue Powerade and hot chips when the other one is hungover. It is about having promised to love and support the woman I adore for the rest of my life.” Right on!
