Childhood sweethearts Laura and Curtis recently celebrated their decision to tie the know with a romantic, art deco inspired wedding at Ampelon Gardens in Mildura, New South Wales. “Our garden wedding was very much a whimsical, secret garden theme with the styling of florals, hair and dresses to suit. I LOVE looking at old wedding photographs dating back to the 1900’s and wanted to create a similar vibe”, says Laura who wore an embellished, vintage style gown by Gwendolynne.
“The minute I walked in I knew this was my style and made the decision as soon as I tried it on. I love the attention to detail… The high neck and open back is beautiful. Another plus is that it was SO comfortable which was very important to me.” Owner of children’s wear label A Little Pocket, Laura was just as chuffed to have photographer Jessica Tremp of Brown Paper Parcel capture their day.
Keen to contribute, Laura employed her basic InDesign skills to create their wedding stationery, inspired by an art deco pattern by Christopher Dresser. Together her and Curtis also decided to shake things up a little, choosing to have their grandparents sign their registry. “They were so emotional and thrilled about this and it is something we will cherish forever.”
