The joy on our faces when we saw these pics by one of our fave photographers Lara Hotz, was much like when you wake up thinking it’s Monday before realising it’s only Sunday.
Their story is just as delightful, too. Having backpacked trough Asia for three weeks they decided to splurge and stay at a beautiful eco resort on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam. During a romantic, sunset swim, Shaun proposed and Larah said yes!
After that, it was all about the dress. “I’d seen a beautiful rose coloured sequin dress by Celyna Ziolkowski in a bridal mag and I made an appointment to go check out her studio. When I rocked up there was this amazing gold sequinned dress hanging in the window. I immediately fell in love with the fabric but I didn’t love the cut of the dress so Celeyna sketched up exactly what I was looking for. I cried at my final fitting – it was absolutely my dream dress”.
The wedding took place at Bellmore, a French Morrocon House in Bundanoon, New South Wales and inspired their simple, rustic theme. As for all the decorations, including wedding programs, cake and table settings… “DIY sometimes just plain sucks but all that hard work will make it all that much more special on the day”, says Larah.
