Romantic Kangaroo Valley wedding

Having just built their home in the area, Kangaroo Valley was an apt place for Eliza and Will to host their ‘I do’s, and the local Golf and Country Retreat had them “instantly sold”. “I loved the location surrounded by the stunning mountains, the Italian restaurant, the outdoor decking area and just the overall warmth and character it had,” shared the bride. “The Golf Club also offers a range of accommodation so all of our guests were able to stay onsite and we were able to add-on breakfast at the venue for all of our guests the next morning!”

DIY Wedding Stationery & Handwritten Details

“I really loved it all though I was quite proud of all the stationery items in particular. There’s a lot of work that goes into each item when you’re designing it all yourself. To highlight a few, the menus for the tables, the formal invitations – we had these printed and mailed out and we also hand-wrote each placecard for the tables.”

Mismatched Wedding Bouquets

“I also really loved the floral bouquets – I wanted to keep them quite minimal, though the florals were really stunning and each bridesmaid held a different type of flower which was a nice detail as I didn’t want everything to be so matchy-matchy.”

“My wedding gown was ‘The Rowyn’ by New Zealand designer Saint Bridal Couture, purchased from The Bridal Curator in Rosebery. It was the first dress I tried on and I instantly fell in love!”

Favourite Moments From Their Kangaroo Valley Wedding

“So difficult to pick a favourite! Getting ready that morning with my mum, my mother-in-law and my bridesmaids was so much fun. The ceremony was the perfect setting and was truly so beautiful. We were so excited to finally be married. Will and I also loved the photoshoot with our bridal party, it was a chance to get away from all the chaos and just have some fun with our friends during the golden hour. Dancing with everyone under the stars on the outdoor deck in front of a live Irish band along with a DJ set to end the night was the best. And one of the most heart-warming moments of the day was my mum surprising us with a beautiful poem that she had written. My mum was a little bit shy reading it out in front of a crowd so she had pre-recorded herself reading the poem which was played during the speeches. It was such a beautiful and special moment.”
