After a perfectly planned proposal, Joshua and Jaymie married on their sixth year anniversary at Jalbrook Estate in Balingup, Western Australia. Of their day Jaymie says, “I wanted everyone to have full bellies, happy hearts and experience the soundtrack which had accompanied the many road trips that Josh and I had taken over the years.” They also wanted guests to go device-free, so they set up a sign welcoming guests to their “unplugged” ceremony.
Jaymie and Joshua hired West Oz faves Still Love Photography (who’s work you can see more of here, here and here) to capture every joyous moment of their day of good times. Jaymie, who wore a custom made Elvi Design gown and veil, tells us “I knew I wanted something that I could dance in, and I didn’t want to have to worry about carrying a train or pulling up a runaway corset. I wanted something very relaxed, comfortable and fun, a dress that made me feel like a bride, without being all ‘bridey’. It was such a unique and rewarding experience to watch my dress being made over six months and the ladies at Elvi Design were so delightful to work with.”
Being so far from the city, Jaymie and Joshua took a leap of faith (which totally paid off!!!) when choosing most of their vendors including stationery designer Santigo Sunbird . Their celebrant Sarsha Wetherell however, was one they got to know quite well. “The day before the wedding, during our rehearsal, our celebrant told us that she’d become so fond of us, that she’d named her two latest prize calves Josh and Jaymie to commemorate our big day.”
