As soon as Brown Shoes Productions submitted these breathtaking images from Annabel and Laz’s recent Victorian wedding, we became highly unproductive. Unable to think or write until we’d gotten the low down on Annabel’s gorgeous, Jenny Packham gown.

“I have always loved Jenny Packham as a designer and some of the dresses she has made for Kate Middleton”, says Annabel. “I wanted a pretty but un-structured gown and the Eden dress was exactly that! A very good friend of mine works at Le Louvre and they stock Jenny Packham which was very handy! I had tried on about 15 or so dresses in the typical bridal shops, however as soon as I put the Eden gown on, I knew it was for me. It was the most beautiful and comfortable dress I had ever tried on. This is exactly what I wanted if I was going to dance all night!”

She wasn’t just speaking figuratively – Annabel and Laz were literally the last two to leave the dance floor. Laz and I knew we wanted to dance until the sun came up and we did exactly that. We finished up at 7am as the last people standing. A great effort!” We were surprised by their stamina until we heard the they’d hired The White Tree to entertain guests. It’s no secret that these guys top our wedding-day charts when it comes to choosing a great live band (or photographer, or cinematographer).

Held at Alto – a spectacular event space in the heart of Melbourne with floor to ceiling glass walls, sweeping city views and an industrial chic finish – their day was certainly quite spectacular. “We wanted it to be formal black tie, but very relaxed and fun with lots of good food and music. There was a slight 1920’s theme in there to give it some glamour!” says Annabel.

With gorgeous photos to forever remember their day of days, we hope others still in the midst of planning their own will keep these wise words from Annabel and Laz in the forefront of their minds: “Do exactly what you, as the couple, want to do. Remember this is your day, and make it as beautiful fun and within budget as you can.”
