Want your wedding ceremony to sound like poetry? I’m Jazz, The Poetic Celebrant, a professional writer and celebrant dedicated to making life’s most meaningful moments unforgettable through the art of storytelling.

I believe the best ceremonies are a blend of lighthearted, sentimental and, most importantly, sound authentically like you. The kind of ceremony where your guests are laughing, shedding a few tears and thinking, “Yep, that’s so them.”

I’m there every step of the way (in cute shoes) to support you and your partner through the process, from vow-writing guidance to handling the details behind the scenes and being a silly goose with Grandma on the day. I take my role as a sparkly hype woman very seriously.

I love to work with couples to create modern, inclusive ceremonies with a touch of age-old romance. Perhaps my most unique offering is a custom poem written especially for your ceremony. Inspired by your story and woven into the ceremony itself, it’s a one-of-a-kind celebration of your relationship.

I’m not just a wedding celebrant, I’m also a professional writer. That means no copy-and-paste approach. The best part of my job is getting to the heart of your story as a couple and writing a ceremony that reflects your personalities, relationship and the atmosphere you want to create on the day. Every couple is welcome, and every ceremony is designed to tell your story in a way that feels natural and meaningful.

Poetry lasts forever. As part of my service, I will write you a custom poem about your love story that you can keep.

I am also a dance floor starter, a vintage fashion lover and always up for a laugh. Planning your wedding with me will be like working with an old friend.

Can you help us write our wedding vows?

Absolutely. I’ve written a wedding vow-writing guide to help with structure, style and harnessing the spark of inspiration. I’m not joking when I say my own husband used it to write his vows!

I’m also happy to read over your vows and offer feedback. Beyond that, I can help you incorporate creative or symbolic elements that add depth and personality to your ceremony without feeling forced or overly traditional.

Do you travel for weddings across Victoria?

Absolutely, I will travel for your wedding. Travel is included in metro Melbourne and Ballarat. For regional locations a little further out, I add a simple travel fee depending on distance and time, but I’ll always confirm everything upfront. As a millennial who never visits a café without reading the menu first, I value transparency!

Can we have a modern and inclusive wedding ceremony?

I love that modern wedding ceremonies can truly reflect the people getting married. Whether you’re planning a big celebration, an intimate gathering or a non-traditional wedding, your ceremony should feel like you. I love incorporating different cultures, identities and family structures in ways that feel respectful, inclusive and genuine. Every couple is welcome.
