A relaxed country wedding in Trentham Victoria to mark the beginning of married life for these cool cats Georgia and Calvin. Coupled up for eight years (but in each other’s life since primary school days), they tied the knot at The Cosmopolitan Hotel Trentham. Our mate Celebrant Jam did the honours, but not before our bride and groom shared a sweet first look – a highlight of the day. “It was so exciting to see each other and see our outfits together,” they share – the bride in vintage, the groom in M.J. Bale, both sporting Bared Footwear. “Ring The Bell Weddings, our photographer, got some great photos of us and our friends’ reactions.
Immerse yourself in Georgia and Calvin’s rural soiree for large wedding party inspo, a winning day-of timeline, nostalgic decor details and lots more charming takeaways you’ll want to note.
Getting Ready with a Large Bridal Party in Trentham
“Getting ready with all our friends was a lot of fun. We each had a large wedding party to get ready with on the day. Saying our vows was very romantic – there wasn’t a dry eye. Dancing at the reception was also a highlight, as it was great to finally let loose after all the planning of the day.”
The Bride’s Vintage Pre-Loved Wedding Dress & Handmade Veil
“My dress was thrifted from an American seller who finds vintage clothes. It took me two months to find them and pick out the dress. It was pretty easy although I did second guess myself. My friend Chloe hand sewed my veil. It was my favourite part of the outfit!”
The Groom’s Suit – M.J. Bale Suiting for a Victorian Wedding
“My suit was from M.J. Bale. I went into the city store with my dad and they took care of us, had everything sorted that day so all we had to do was go back and pick it up two weeks later. I initially wanted a shirt from somewhere else because I wanted something bone white instead of stark white but I ended up getting one from M.J. Bale anyway and it turned out great.”
DIY Wedding Flowers & Nostalgic Photo Wall Decor
“We arranged the flowers ourselves and put photos of us throughout the years all along the walls with candles, including photos from when we were in primary school together.”
Wedding Day Timeline Tips – What Worked for a Country Victoria Wedding
“Glad that we split our time evenly between taking photos and mingling with guests after the ceremony before dinner. Glad that we followed our photographer’s direction when taking photos and trusted him.”
The Venue & Vendors – Standout Suppliers for a Trentham Wedding
“Fiona from The Cosmopolitan Hotel helped us a lot with the planning beforehand. Guests are still raving about the food – beef cheeks on polenta was a hit! And Shaun of Ring The Bell Weddings, our photographer, was amazing to take photos with and they turned out great!”
