An item since they were 16, Georgia (a nurse/midwife) and Harry (a carpenter) got hitched in Cowwarr, Victoria. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, it’s a small township east of Melbourne. However, the couple’s venue – Amarti – felt more like Italy. “It is absolutely stunning in every aspect from the heritage building, the gardens and the most beautiful century old tree line,” shares the bride. The duo gelled right away with venue owner Amy (who managed all the styling and florals), the option for a 1am curfew got the groom excited, and the catering? “Delicious. We still talk about how amazing the food was.”
“Our photos are just incredible and captured everything so perfectly,” the couple commented, applauding the work of their photographer Kinship by Kristy. Within the album you’ll spy a swag of charming choices, like a raspberry-topped cake from Proof Bakehouse, Euro-esque table details, a chic bridal party line-up in black (feat. Bec + Bridge), and one wow-worthy sculptural white gown by Mariam Seddiq. Below, we hear Georgia’s stealthy dress shopping trip interstate and why the couple are glad they splurged on a videographer (shoutout to you, Rachael Mary Films).
Euro-Inspired Wedding Venue in Cowwarr, Victoria
“We only looked at one other venue and we both knew instantly it was not the venue for us. We kind of lost hope after that, struggling to find something affordable that we loved. I rang my sister-in-law and she suggested Amarti Wedding Venue. After that phone call and deep diving into all the stunning photos of weddings at their venue, we knew it was the one. When I went to Amarti and met Amy (the owner), I was just in love with everything to do with the venue and the people there. Harry was sold when he found out they offered wood fire pizzas, Italian beer and the option for a 1am finish haha.”
The Bride’s Sculptural Mariam Seddiq Wedding Dress
“I went shopping in Melbourne but never found anything I loved. I almost was about to go with a custom dress then the most incredible off shoulder dress with flared sleeves popped up on my Instagram. Only issue was it was in Sydney and I was in Melbourne. So after everyone saying that’s just not possible, I went on a whim, booked an appointment the next day and a ticket to Sydney (without telling anyone haha). Mariam Seddiq was absolutely beautiful, so talented and I felt very comfortable with her immediately. I tried on the sample which didn’t come close to fitting me but I knew it was the one just from the sleeve alone. I still am so obsessed with my dress, I wish I could wear it again somehow.”
Why This Couple Are So Glad They Booked a Wedding Videographer
“I was hesitant on getting a wedding video done just in terms of other people saying it wasn’t worth it and is an additional cost in your wedding budget. But I thought how special it would be to have our favourite moments from the day and hearing the voices of our special people in years to come. Literally the morning we woke up after the wedding we both said how much we couldn’t wait to watch the video. Our videographer Rachael was incredible. We both cried watching the videos of our ceremony, and so many moments we had forgotten because you are just on this complete high of happiness during it. Beyond grateful that we did do the video, I can’t wait to watch it when we are old and remember the best day ever.”
Standout Victorian Wedding Vendors
“Amy from Amarti was truly the most incredible creative human, so welcoming and friendly, I trusted her with absolutely everything and she gave us our dream wedding. Kristy, our photographer. Wow! She is absolutely insane at what she does and such a beautiful person too. She was such a calm happy presence on the day and felt so comfortable with her. Our photos are just incredible and captured everything so perfectly.”
