With their venue pulling the plug at the eleventh hour, Belle and Sam’s Byron Bay wedding may have not been entirely stress free, but boy did they turn it around!
“Three weeks out we were trying to figure out where the hell we were going to get married!” Fortunately the pair discovered (and promptly fell in love with) The Grove in the scenic rolling hills of Byron’s Hinterlands.
“We loved that it was outdoors and the pool and fire pit were just spectacular.” Belle added that another benefit to The Grove was the fact that the extensive grounds allowed for some gorgeous scene changes, “the ceremony was down near the macadamia trees, cocktail our up near the pool, and reception in the tent.”
With an engagement that started with a birthday weekend on the coast, and ended with ‘Marry Me?’ written in the sand, this loved up duo set about planning their special day. With some investigative research into past issues of your’s truely, and a helping hand from Byron Bay Weddings, Belle and Sam discovered photographer Carly Tia, “she just got us and captured the most beautiful moments and always made us feel comfortable.”
As far as the dress hunt went, Belle got lucking when she discovered her dream gown at the Karen Willis Holmes store in Paddington, Sydney. “The staff at KWH were absolutely fabulous,” Belle mentioned that she decided to get a few more alterations to the dress a week out from the wedding, adding that she knew her husband to be would be going all ‘gooey eyes’ over her in a fitted gown. “I never usually wear fitted clothes…The look on his face was priceless when I was walking down the aisle!”
Giving a standing ovation to their celebrant Katrina Holt of Wonderlove Weddings, and the fabulous florals from Beautiflora, the pair offered this piece of advice to future Mrs and Mrs, “if things go wrong or it becomes stressful, just remember that in the end it’s about celebrating the love that you have for each other…everything else is just a bonus.”
