Em and Mils’ Melbourne wedding at home was simple, sentimental, and swiftly planned in just a few months, challenging any notion that you need a long lead-up to marry your love.
Booking Chin Chin for the reception was a “no brainer,” shared the bride (who wore two beautiful second-hand bridal gowns paired with a sparkler from Black Finch Jewellery) and groom (sporting a suit he secured the day before the wedding! That’s a level of chill-ness that we have to applaud!) And for the ceremony, where better than their family abode? “We always wanted to get married at home where it meant something to us and we could have the kids, Goldie and Dusty, there.”

THE LEAD-UP TO THE WEDDING
“Best time ever. Milan got his suit the day before the wedding. I redid the house (garden etc). [It went] from a not-wearing-white small wedding to a wedding of 115 [guests] and me wearing two white dresses. So fun.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS
“Our outfits were so fun. Getting photos with Rolan. Drinking a bottle of Dom Perignon on the way to the reception. The speeches, which made people cry. We also did hand binding to seal the ceremony and had many loved ones talk.”
SECOND-HAND BRIDAL GOWNS
“The first was a second-hand white dress from a Danish designer and the second was a two-piece smaller mini dress and a skirt made from a second hand wedding dress store.”
ADVICE FOR WEDDING PLANNING
“Keep it light-hearted. Don’t tell your family until the last moment – if they don’t know then there won’t be any drama.”
