Meet Shreeya and Sho – a pair of doctors who, after getting engaged during a lockdown, wanted nothing more than to have a big celebration with all the people they’d missed over the previous two years. “We wanted it to be laidback and cosy, with great food, wine and music,” they tell us.

Rupert on Rupert was the spot they picked for their nups and were just one of a whole host of fab vendors. “All our incredible vendors definitely hit the mark!” they say, from their amazing photographer Amanda Alessi to a tuly fab cake by Ladybird Cakes, and some ‘fit by some Hello May faves, Alca Line Bride and Suitably. Take a look at these snaps and we guaranteed you’ll be inspired for your own big day!

THE DRESS “I bought my dress from Alca Line Bride and it was the first one I tried on. I was convinced to try on three or four more, but I came back to the first dress and never looked back. I’m usually very decisive with purchases, I know if I love something or not almost straight away, and I just knew with this dress that it was the one. I hadn’t seen any other dresses like it on the market and I felt amazing in it from the moment I tried it on!”

THE SUIT “The suit was from Suitably, a local designer based out of Collingwood (right next to our venue, Rupert on Rupert, in fact). The designer, Alex, was incredibly supportive and helped Sho design exactly what he was looking for. Even with some last minute delays, Alex made sure everything came together in time for the big day.”

REFERENCESHello May mainly of course! A lot of my vendors were also referrals from my original vendors who could no longer be a part of our wedding when we had to change the date due to the pandemic. Everyone came highly recommended and we couldn’t have been happier.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m really glad we wrote our own vows, this was a highlight of the day. I’m also glad we kept the ceremony short, the best part of the wedding is hanging out with your guests! We also loved our long table arrangements as we felt like we were mixed in with the party rather than on a separate table.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “All of our vendors were absolutely incredible, but a shoutout definitely goes to our photographer Amanda Alessi and our incredible lovely celebrant Lisa Graham. Marlee and Katie from Rupert on Rupert were also amazing from day one and made our lives a million times easier.”

You’ll find stacks of amazing vendor recs on our directory – like the phenom Ladybird Cakes, who whipped up Shreeya and Sho’s delish baked masterpiece, and Suitably for sharp looks for the lads.
