“On the day of the wedding, not only did Nicole manage to accidentally glue her feet into her shoes (in the hope of preventing blisters) but The Magic Bus full of guests broke down on the way back from the ceremony”, says Aaron explaining why their guests were two hours late to the reception. “Stranded on the side of a country road with little to no phone reception, their life line the over flowing esky full of alcohol.”

Everything else however, happened just as they had planned. Aaron got to marry the woman of his dreams, they both got to have Antony Merat as their photographer and Nicole designed the dress she’d been dreaming about ever since she was a little girl. “My dress. The fabric all the way from London and the design all the way from my dreams. I put it all into the hands of my amazing dress maker and never looked back” says Nicole who also wore jewellery handed down through four generations.

Held at Green Hills on Tweed in northern New South Wales, their day was, as Nicole describes, “Us. A little odd and mismatched with glitter and crystal. We wanted our guests to step into our world full of pastels and awe.” With held from prop hire company Little Grey Station and White White Nicole and Arron struck a perfect balance between hired help and DIY. “The whole wedding was our DIY project, from designing the bridesmaid’s outfits to searching high and low for the perfect cookie recipes.” Judging by these photos though, it seems no amount of tasty treats (no matter how good the recipe) could keep this couple away from the dance floor.
