Wowza, Ellie and Luke’s Victoria based wedding has us taking note of the details, as Ellie (the blushing bride) tells us, much of the DIY work was due to her creative flare. “The cheese wheel table, the dreamcatchers (for the girls) and rum (for the boys) guest gifts, all of the natural colours, the wooden & feather touch, cigar & rum bar, the flowers? honestly – every detail was my favourite!” As the designer and owner of The Vintage Tree, Ellie’s unique style has us falling in love with this bohemian wedding.
Despite already purchased two dresses, Ellie finally found the perfect dress from our buddies at Spell Designs, “I took it to my grandma- who used to be a dress maker, and together we worked out exactly what needed to happen to make it look me’ – we then took it to my local dress maker (Heather Sellick) and she worked her magic. It came out perfectly and exactly what I had always imagined! Relaxed with a bohemian feel, I couldn’t have loved how it turned out more.”
This gorgeous couple have spent a whopping 10 years together, having met at the age of 15 and 16 at a school party! Knowing they wanted a day that represented them as a couple, the pair discovered the stunning grounds of The Butter Factory, Ellie describing it as, “beyond perfect!”
With the combined efforts of some of the industry’s finest, Ellie and Luke’s day was the perfect blend of laid back boho vibes, detail rich flora and rustic decor, and a hell’of’a lot of fun! “We also loved that it felt like we just had one big party. Everything fell into place with no rushing or nervousness on both of our sides.”
Melbourne based photographer Daniel Milligan was there to capture the day, Ellie adding Dan’s effortless work as commented on by many of the guests, “Everyone kept coming up to me on the day and said your photographer, videographer and celebrant are so awesome and chilled out!’ And thats exactly what Luke and I wanted on our wedding day, fun people who are easy to work with! ALL of our vendors are incredibly talented!”
