Vanessa and Steve took their passion for a garden wedding, flew it to Bali and injected it with a topical vibe, all before perching it on a cliff. The result? All kinds of wonderful. Whilst we might not be able to nip across the oceans to soak up some rays like these two, we can most definitely enjoy the phenomenal styling and loved up snaps, courtesy of lens lady Janneke Storm. So, hop to it! Scroll down for some fairy light shrouded delight…

FAVOURITE DETAILS “One of my favourite details from the day was having the menu written on leaves on the table. For the seating chart, we had a huge board with “Take a Shot, Take a Seat” written on top. Also, the menu for the buffet was written on a leaf which went perfectly with the decor.”

MARRIAGE MEANS “Marriage to us is about sharing life with your best friend. Someone who will support you not only in the good times but also the bad times. There is no greater gift than unconditional love and the feeling of safety knowing you have someone standing right behind you ready to pick you up when you fall. Because everyone will fall at some point. But now that we are married, I can safely say that 90% of marriage is just yelling “WHAT?” from other rooms.”

LITTLE LOL “In the lead up to the wedding, I was told about our rain options for the wedding day itself. One option was a rain god – he had a 100% success rate. With neither of us being religious, we figured he wasn’t for us (the suggestion wasn’t without Steve making fun of me for considering the idea). The day before the wedding it was absolutely bucketing down with rain. Torrential. As Steve stood at the window staring out at the rain he asked: ‘So how much is that rain god?’ $500 later we had blue skies and perfect weather for our wedding day.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Our advice is to set a budget and stick to it. It is very easy to get carried away with ‘what’s another $100’. They very quickly add up.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “I was hesitant at first to go with Janneke’s suggestion of how much time we should set aside for couple and bridal party photos as Steve and I both wanted to be a part of the celebrations but we spent the time joking around and having fun while we got our couple photos. It was so nice just to have time to relax and spend with each other. Even if it wasn’t completely alone, it wasn’t awkward. And it was time Steve and I got to spend together as during the reception we would often separate to talk to friends and family.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “All the vendors did amazing. The wedding was so perfect for us and it ran so smoothly. The food was delicious. The venue looked stunning. Yesha, our wedding planner [Bali Dream Day], made sure that any little hiccups didn’t bother us. Janneke Storm and Will Archer worked so well together. Janneke was amazing at directing everyone and keeping things flowing whereas you didn’t notice Will (in a good way).”

A big fan of Janneke’s sweet captures? Us too! Head on over here to catch her contact deets and here for more real weddings she has shot. We particularly loved Wendy & Steve’s Sydney wedding which you can find here. But first…
