“Now which hand was it? I’ve never done this before!” said Sean as he moved to put the freshly minted engagement ring on Vannessa’s finger, his equally surprised/shocked/thrilled bride to be! Vann fondly recalled the touching moment when Sean popped the question as the sun set on a winters day in Chicago. “Sean had arranged for the moment to be captured since we were faraway from our friends and family in Australia & Singapore. That was really sweet.”
Whilst the pair often traveled internationally for work, they agreed an Australian wedding would be the go. With The Barn Wallington set to host their big day (and Cushla Whiting rings on their fingers), the pair kept with the theme of the property, Vann adding, “I wanted our wedding to be un-fussed, cosy, with lots of wild, romantic flowers adorning the place,” which of course came from the incredible Guo of Tweedtwigs.
Whilst in the midsts of settling into a new house and running two businesses from abroad, Vann finally discovered her dream gown from Made With Love at Bluebell Bridal in Melbourne.
As far as favourite moments of the day went, we couldn’t help but grin at this one from the bride: “The moment that will stick with me for life was really seeing Sean at the end of that aisle. When I got closer, I saw tears streaming down his face in a complete ugly-cry!! He’d sworn he wouldn’t cry…I had to compose myself in order not to burst out laughing. Pretty sure we have a photo of me biting my lip in a big smile?that was just so I wouldn’t laugh!” Fortunately photographer genius Stories By Ash and cinematographers Humdrum Films were there to commit the moment to film – and thank god they did!
