Gather ‘round! We’re admiring Nicole and Tess’ uber-elegant nuptials, perfectly captured on camera by Maple and June. The couple look back fondly on the highlights, from creating custom stationery (printed by the legends at Sea and Paper Creative Studio) to getting ready together with their entire bridal party by their side (shoutout to our mate Samantha Lee, who was responsible for Nicole and Tess’ glowy, gorg glam).
In summary – Dream. Day. But one aspect of wedding planning these brides are quite happy to put to bed is the pre-nuptial nightmares. “We both were having some very strange dreams in the lead-up. Very irrational scenarios such as accidentally setting my wedding dress on fire the night before.”
Don’t be scared; no dresses were scorched in the making of this one. So scroll on and join us in reliving Nicole and Tess’ special day.
THE VIBE “More of a party and less of a wedding. We did the shortest ceremony possible to maximise the time spent together celebrating. Nothing was too stiff or on a super strict timeline. Our biggest purpose was for our guests to have a really fun time, which by all reports was achieved!”
FAVE DETAILS “Our absolutely stunning florals and styling by Ellebore. Maddy was given creative carte blanche and transformed our high-level ideas into the most beautiful arrangements and styling. [Also,] the Jaguar E-Type. Nicole searched high and low for this particular vehicle (her grandparents had one when she was a child). It was one of the first things our guests saw upon arrival and featured heavily in our photos. We felt it added an extra touch of class and elegance to the wedding.”
THE DRESS “My dress is by Canadian designer Ines Di Santo, purchased from the amazing Love Marie Bridal. One of my bridesmaids sent me a video [of my dress] on Instagram, and I loved it! Thankfully, there was a last-minute appointment available to try it on. While I loved it, I went ahead with the rest of my appointments and knew in the end that this was the one for me! [As] everyone says, the dress I picked was nothing like what I thought I would wear.”
STANDOUT VENDOR “Our photographer Zoe from Maple and June – coming from two people who just about never get photos of ourselves, Zoe made us feel unbelievably relaxed in front of the camera. We only met on the day but felt like we had been friends forever! We also really valued that Zoe knew our venue very well, so we could be pretty snappy with photos and get back to the party.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “The dancefloor! It was packed for most of the night, with guests eagerly showing off their best moves (think flailing arms, kicking legs and unbuttoned shirts – a real 70s vibe). One of the best parts of the wedding was that [as] we were 1.5 hours out of Sydney, 95 per cent of our guests could stay all weekend. Not only did we get all of our family and friends in the room for one night, but we had them for the whole weekend, which is an incredible memory to look back on.”
