Stop what you’re doing, dear readers. As Sarah and Brayden’s urban escape is exactly the wedding you’ll want to see today. From the Prea James Bridal gown (put simply, perfection) to the awesome city venue (with a side of garden vibes for all the feels) it is not one to be missed. Nikki McCrone, photographer and all-round good human, was there to take the pics and we sure are pleased about it. Scroll down for all the deets…

THE VENUE “I knew we wanted something very relaxed, open and not overly formal or like a seated reception venue. We came across Post Office Hotel one night and once we looked at their wedding booklet we fell in love! The events team at Post Office Hotel – Jen and Caitlin – were so supportive and encouraging when we had to postpone our original date, they love what they do and they are so good at it! Communication was a breeze, they made it seem so easy and took away so much of the stress especially in the days leading up to our day.”

FAVE DETAILS “The flowers (by Babylon Flowers) were a standout, they were absolutely beautiful! We had this amazing hanging roof piece that hung over the dance floor and the flowers were scattered throughout the venue really complimented the greenery within the dining hall. Brayden’s parents made boxes, signs, a table and a welcome sign and had them hand-painted by a signwriter. They were so lovely and really made the space on the deck where we had our ceremony feel so special.”

THE DRESS “My dress was by Prea James Bridal and I purchased it from Bluebell Bridal. It was the Asta gown, and as soon as I put it on I knew it was the one! I am so grateful I gave it a chance – it was probably about the sixth dress I had tried on, and completely different to the style I had thought I wanted.”

REFERENCES “Once I had locked in Post Office Hotel, I spent a lot of time on Instagram scrolling through theirs and seeing what vendors had worked with them, what they had been tagged in and got an idea of a few different vendors I liked. We went to a Post Office Hotel open day where the favourite florist and photographer that I had found was, so I got to meet them in person and knew they were perfect for us! We managed to lock in a celebrant, florist and photographer that day!”

LITTLE LOL “We had a power outage later in the evening, the power was out to the whole grid! We were having such a great time, I didn’t even realise the power was out until someone told me! Thankfully we were able to get our hands on the wireless speaker so we only had to sing acapella for a little while, and thanks to all the candles scattered around we had great mood lighting so we were able to continue to celebrate into the night as planned!”

STANDOUT VENDORSNikki McCrone, our photographer, was sensational. We adored her, she made us feel so comfortable and at ease, we had so many laughs and it was such a breeze, it didn’t even feel like we were having photos taken. We had so many guests comment about her presence on the day- she was so happy and just flowed through with everyone capturing the day as we all enjoyed it, even having a boogie on the dance floor with us. Our celebrant Wendy Beech– she was incredible! We wanted a short and sweet ceremony and she really delivered. It was one part of the day I was most nervous about, but it was so great, we really enjoyed it.”

If you are still searching for your dream dress and Sarah’s Prea James number has caught your eye, first of all, we don’t blame you! And secondly, head here to see a tonne of other real weddings we have published of brides who have been very happy with their get-ups for the day. But first…
