After 11 years together, high school sweethearts, Sam and Jonno made it official at the gorgeous Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat with absolute legend Married by Adam officiating (seriously guys, Adam is a pro and a whole lotta fun). Set against the beautiful bush backdrop, Sam in L’eto Bridal and Jonno suited up in M.J. Bale, these guys had the time of their lives at their three-day wedding festival, which included a big pub feed with all their friends and fam, drinks by the campfire and b&e rolls (the perfect hangover cure) as they recovered from the big-day shenanigans. Scroll down to see all the epic pics from Josh Jay and to read our chat with the happy newlyweds…
THE SUIT “My suit was from M.J.Bale. It took a few months to find what I wanted as initially I wanted a dark green suit but couldn’t quite find the fabric I was imagining. The overall experience was a lot of fun. I had a day with the boys and my brothers where we all went in to pick out the suits and get fitted together. I also spent an afternoon with Sam at my custom fitting where we got to drink a beer while I chose out fabrics and styles.”
REFERENCES “It was a mix of reading through a few Hello May copies that I was given as engagement gifts and also going to the One Fine Day wedding fair where I found the lovely Monique Kazokas for hair and makeup.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “One of the best things we included was a witness lottery. We wanted to involve as many of our guests in the day as possible – so we got Adam to draw two names out of a hat to decide our witnesses! It was a great way to keep our guests on their toes and also a nice surprise for us on the day.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Had the wedding over three days – it gave us time to properly catch up with everyone so that on the day of the wedding itself, we could just enjoy time with each other, it was a lot more relaxed without the stress having to get around and say hey to everyone. We are also so glad that we cooked the recovery breakfast ourselves the next day. Not only did it save us a bunch of money, but it was a nice way to reminisce on the night before in true ‘morning after a big night’ style.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “We really need to acknowledge our celebrant Adam. Just incredible. Our friends and family still can’t stop talking about how fun the ceremony was – it was just the right amount of love and humour and I still have my grandparents calling me raving about him. Not only that, but his wife had given birth to their first baby just three days before in Sydney, yet he still made the drive three hours south to get us married! What a guy!”
Looking for a celebrant in NSW who not only knows his way around a ceremony, but also brings the LOLs and good times? Adam of Married by Adam is your man. Head to his directory listing here to hit him up! And if you’re need of a suit, shirt, tie, suspenders (you get the drift), get in touch with our friends at M.J. Bale here.
