One thing that clearly stood out about Rachael and Sam’s day was their venue. Held at a private warehouse in Geelong, Victoria they were blessed with the most incredible blank canvas courtesy of Sam’s friend and business partner, Cam.
“We… knew it was exactly what we were looking for”, says Rachel who hired Dress My Wedding and She’s A Wildflower to introduce some colour and warmth to their otherwise empty, industrial space.
After an epic journey to find her elegant Alex Perry wedding gown (she’d previously tried on over 60 wedding dresses) Rachael decided to keep everything else simple by hosting their ceremony and reception in the same space.
“We wanted the wedding to be really casual and fun for guests”, she says, adding that she found inspiration from One Fine Day Wedding Fair and Hello May. “I have recently just passed all my [Hello May] mags onto my recently engaged best friend!”
The one decision they’re especially pleased they made was hiring photographer Pierre Curry. “His excitement for our wedding venue and to take photos of our day was amazing, he was fantastic on the day and felt like a life long friend!”
