With a proposal over a platter of wine and cheese with a black diamond ring (that the groom designed himself fyi!), Monique and John sure did get this marriage business started off on the right foot. As for the wedding itself, this big day is positively brimming with inspo. How does a bride with a bob, a bridal party decked out in all-white pantsuits and a Prea James Bridal gown sound? Perfecto! One of our fave Western Oz photographers Adam Levi Browne Photography (whom the bride and groom promise is “the biggest legend going around”) was on hand snapping pics. Scroll down for the goods…
FAVOURITE DETAILS “We kicked off our day with a champagne tower. We loved this! It gave us a chance to say hi to our guests and have a quick toast as newly weds before we went off to have some photos. We also thought it kicked off cocktail hour nicely for our guests and set the scene for a fun night to come.”
DIY “The ceremony took place in a gazebo that my dad had built most of and my husband had built the roof. It was special that they built it together. There is a long vineyard leading up to the ceremony that we lined with Persian rugs. The vines had all grown over and it was such a beautiful way to enter and exit the ceremony.
THE DRESS “I wore the Cara gown by Prea James Bridal. I just absolutely love the silk of this dress, it is so delicious and dreamy! I loved how it was modern with the twist at the front making people think that it was a two-piece set. I know that when I look back on my pictures, that dress will be so classic and timeless. I was originally going for a lacy boho style dress with mammoth bell sleeves and all! But when I tried the Cara gown on, I knew it was right! I had the back lowered so that it was extra low. Through the White Door in Fremantle were really helpful and made the experience really fun and memorable. I then had all my alterations done by Faith at Whitework. She made a custom pearl veil for me too. It was so much fun picking all of the little details and going for fittings in the lead up. It makes you really excited to see it all come together.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “When it comes to styling stick to your guns and forget about it being a wedding! Choose one thing to go over the top with (for us it was the flowers) and whenever you feel yourself wanting to do more or add this and that just remind yourself of your feature and reign it back in. It is easy to follow lots of weddings on Instagram accounts and feel like you need certain things at yours but you really don’t. We are so glad that we just did it our way.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “When it comes to vendors we only picked people that gave us good vibes and are genuine. I think we had the DREAM TEAM of vendors and what was really special was that they all knew each other. I was recommended each vendor from the previous one. They were all so excited for our big day and pulled together as a team to bring it all together. It was really special and I will never forget them! I want to have another wedding just so I can see them again! Each and every one of them went above and beyond for us and we couldn’t ask for anymore than that! We especially had so much fun with Adam, our photographer. We spent so much of the day with him and he made the day so enjoyable and cruisey for us which is exactly what we wanted when we set out to look for a photographer in the first place. He understood what kind of photos and vibe that we wanted. He was really respectful of our time and he had so much respect for our schedule and our wants. The photos are everything that we could have wanted and I cried when I saw them for the first time.”
