“We met when we were both quite young while playing Water Polo in Montenegro. We caught each other’s eyes in a nightclub one night on the shores of Montenegro and never looked back,” says the bride. Seven and a half years later they were tying the knot in this inner city, Sydney wedding with Matt Godkin Photography behind the lens and we couldn’t be happier to be bringing it to you today. Scroll down for all the pics and our chat with the loved-up duo…

THE VENUEWe wanted a venue that was stress-free. It had to be all-inclusive but also flexible and tailored to the vibe we wanted. We were planning amongst the bushfires, hailstorms and flooding of January 2020, so we wanted something that was indoors but still had ample sunlight. We visited four venues before we signed with Reign at the QVB, and couldn’t be happier that we did. Their food, decor and large white windows and walls were the perfect canvas for our night, as was the opportunity to exclusively use the QVB for our photos, which Matt captured so perfectly.”

THE INSPONeither of us come from a religious background, so we didn’t want something too traditional. That being said, we still wanted something memorable. We wanted a day that was simple but sophisticated, minimal but over-the-top, and unique but timeless.”

FAVE DETAILSMainly just that our many vendors were mostly dear friends – from the music and cake, to our flowers; this is what made our day so, so special. I also loved that we decided to go with black-tie as the dress code, which gave our night such a playful, great Gatsby-esque feel.”

THE DRESSI ordered my Balmain ceremony dress from Net-a-Porter. It wasn’t actually from a bridal line, but I thought it fit my brief of not bridal, but bridal. Once it arrived, it fit like a glove (albeit having to get taken up slightly). My Paco Rabanne ceremony dress was a much more last-minute decision that arrived from My Theresa four days before the wedding. I was feeling a bit stressed the week before, and really felt like I wanted something I could actually run around in on the night.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTWe particularly loved cutting the cake and eating it together with our hands. We had had so much champagne by this point, and it was just so indulgent and fun. It’s one of our favourite photos.”

CUTE CUSTOMMy father did an amazing speech honouring my mother who had passed away before I met Keeland. He elaborated on all the reasons why my mother would have loved Keeland, and it was just really special. [Also] one of Keeland’s mother’s favourite locations is Flores in Indonesia. On her last trip, she brought back a traditional ikat for her daughter and two future daughters for their future wedding days. I felt so lucky to have finally received mine on our day – the last in the Tracy family.”

LITTLE LOLWhen our ring-bearers approached us with our bands, they were both hysterical. I later found out that Keeland had left the rings at our home in Surry Hills on his way to the ceremony. Kee’s oldest friend Dylan had to uber back to retrieve them and had arrived just before I got to the aisle!”

WE’RE GLAD WE…Had the ceremony and reception at the same venue. There was no gap, intermission or moving. It was the best for us, and the best for our guests.”
