Clark proposed to Mercedes whilst visiting family in Perth. “It was incredibly thoughtful of him to plan it so we could celebrate with them. He proposed at sunset on the beach after late arvo swim and caught me off guard whilst climbing up a sand dune – Classy” the bride jokes.
Cue two years of wedding planning and the couple decided to tie the knot at the stunning Paddington Reservoir Gardens followed by a reception at Porteno in the heart of Surry Hills, but that wasn’t always the plan as Mercedes goes on to explain “We had another venue booked and the deposit paid. Then I came across a wedding that had taken place in Porteno [maybe this one?] and we instantly knew it was the right thing for us to move venues, best decision we made”.
Clearly a bride who follows her gut and stays true to herself Mercedes was never going to be a traditional bride, opting for a slinky Calvin Klein gown from one of our go to online emporiums Net- A-Porter telling us “I had always wanted something sleek and minimal with hopefully an opportunity to wear again? I found my slip dress and instantly knew it was the one. I actually felt a little like £what is all the fuss about? That was a piece of cake! But I know it’s not like that for every bride, I just got very lucky!”
Fast forward to the wedding day and Mercedes tells us her favourite moment was “Seeing Clark for the first time at the ceremony was pretty great, he looked so handsome I almost cried myself!” and as for stand out vendors the bride lists two clear winners (amoung many) “Porteno , the food was an absolute stand out I have never had so many people telling us it was the best food they have ever eaten at a wedding and finally John Benavente Photography. John did an amazing job and the photos actually look like we are in Argentina or Europe somewhere!”
