Lilly and Kurtis recently celebrated their delightful nuptials at beautiful and picturesque Mavis Kitchen, which features spectacular Mt. Warning as a backdrop. Seriously folks views don’t get much better than this!
Lilly and Kurtis, who have been together for a year and a half got engaged on their first anniversary, with a picnic by the beach in Burleigh. It just so happened to be Lilly’s birthday and after a few attempts at asking her to keep her eyes closed, Kurtis popped the question and the rest is history.
In a brilliant attempt at bringing a splash of their own individuality and styling to their special day the couple decided on a September wedding, pulling off an incredible country theme that looks ever so relaxing and romantic! The couple decided on having Mavis Kitchen for their ceremony and reception for it held sentimental value to Lilly and it’s also pretty gosh darn beautiful too.
After saying their £I do’s this adorable couple mingled with their guests and enjoyed canapû?s and a friendly game of hand built giant jenga – which we just think is totally awesome!! The blushing bride wore a dress by The Babushka Ballerina and sported some pretty amazing accessories from the brilliant Samantha Wills. As you will see from the snapshots above and below the creative genius that is Lucas and Co Photography once again nailed caputring all the intricate and special details of the day! I mean, damn! How amazing does this wedding look??
We also love a bit of DIY genius over here at Hello May so we’re very impressed that the bridal party put themselves to work the morning of the wedding, setting up the ceremony and reception venue. The groom even made the wooden cross feature behind the alter. Lilly also told us that when she was very young she lost her Mother, so seeing the photo of her Mother on her own wedding day attached to Lilly’s bouquet was such a special touch.
For the finer details though this lovely couple put their trust in some insanely creative folk such as Birds of a Feather for stationary and signage, The Collector and Co for reception styling and decorations and those incredible blooms were from the awesome Elyssium blooms.
