Lauren and Stephen had a simple goal in mind, they tell us. “We just wanted our wedding day to be a big party for all of our family and friends,” the pair explains, adding that they had always had a warehouse style venue (like Laurens Hall) in mind for their big day, which featured a boatload of awesome vendors.
“To see the venue looking as it did, full of greenery and flowers, exactly how we had envisaged, was amazing,” the bride tells us, adding that Ed Dixon Food Design and Lilli Waters of I Got You Babe Weddings topped the list of so-cool suppliers.
“We were so grateful to Lilli for everything she did. Ed Thompson from Ed Dixon Food Design was brilliant,” says Lauren, who were her beloved mum’s wedding gown for the ceremony and a lovely Tania Stokes Couture number for the reception.
“I had tried on a number of traditional gowns and none felt quite right so I cobbled together a number of styles that I liked and went through d’italia fabrics in Malvern to find Tania Stokes. She was wonderful to work with and I loved the final dress.”
Though these lovebirds had been together 10 years prior to tying the knot, they admit they didn’t go into marriage lightly. “Why mess with a good thing?! For us it meant a final commitment to each other in front of family and friends. We already knew that we would be together forever; this was just a way to include our loved ones and have an awesome party at the same time!!”
