After 10 years together, Krista and Leigh didn’t want to drag out their engagement for too long. To get the ball rolling, they landed on only the second venue they saw. “The Surf Club suited us and the relaxed vibe we wanted perfectly and the view of the ocean from the balcony was just breathtaking.”
Quick to avoid a too-heavily themed wedding, this pair went for a relaxed and informal vine where the people closest to them could feel comfortable and simply enjoy the evening together. “The foraged table decorations and natural elements we had gathered from our property gave a simple backdrop that suited our style and DIY approach to the day.”
Unlike many brides who struggle to say yes to a dress, Krista had no problem finding her rightful gown – a lacey vintage number from My 50s Closet. “It was just perfect! Long, with lacey sleeves. Very white. Made in the 1960s. Beautiful embroidery with little pearls. It wasn’t what I had ever imagined for myself, but at the same time it was so me,” explains the bride, who tells us of one of the most special moment from the day.
“A few years ago I provided in-home care to a little boy during my uni years. It was a lovely job filled with many fond memories. I hadn’t seen the boy for a long time, so I got such a surprise when I saw him sitting in his wheelchair waving excitedly at me walking down the aisle. It was such a beautiful moment for me and I almost lost my composure and cried even before I got to end of the aisle,” says Krista, who couldn’t deny how talented her amazing photographer was.
“Tilly Clifford was so creative! She had a gorgeous vibrant coloured throw that she wrapped around us. We loved doing something that was a little different and untraditional during our photoshoot. Tilly captured so many special moments from the day that we otherwise may have forgotten. Tilly is a wizard!”
