Being in the bridal party is a very serious job… Just ask Katherine and Jared whose flower girl saw her role in the wedding as a huge honour. “My niece, who is five, was our flower girl. She was so excited about the role and a couple of nights before the wedding my brother caught her on YouTube researching flower girl walks. She took it very seriously and in the end did a fantastic job,” explains the bride, who wanted a raw romance inspired day with a touch of classic bohemian.

Held at The Arbour Sirromet Winery, south-east of Brisbane, the couple tells us that after sussing out only three or four venues, they knew they’d found the one. “We instantly fell in love. It had the old school charm, mixed with rustic romantic vibes. The perfect combination. I wanted to create an intimate atmosphere, whilst still having that touch of sparkle,” says Katherine, convinced that her Rue De Seine bridal gown was made just for her.

“It happened to be the first dress I tried on, and I told myself I couldn’t possible purchase it without trying on at least 20 more. But each time I did, I compared it to the original. The long sleeves in French lace were so spectacular, and the highlight of the dress for me. It felt so magical on the day.”

Having spent many-a-nights on Pinterest, Instagram and Hello May, the pair tells us that they found many of their suppliers through the ‘net and found that the pre-planning advice they received to ‘choose amazing vendors and everything else will fall into place’ really set the tone for their day.

“We were so lucky to have incredibly talented vendors for our wedding; however there were a few standouts that made our wedding feel extra special. Our photographers Heart and Colour who captured our day so dreamy and beautiful, our florist Anatomy of Flowers, with her magical creations and our celebrant Carly Slade Weddings who felt like an old family friend.”
