With an ‘uncharacteristic’ call for a selfie, Jo suspected something was up when her boyfriend Pat, got down on one knee as three passer-byers snapped a happy holiday pic of the couple. “Suddenly Pat pulled out a ring and I knew this time it was for real!”
The duo quickly took charge of the wedding arrangements, and with Pat’s interior design profession there to lend a creative hand, the pair whipped up some rather stunning DIY’d features. Jo explains that each area of their day was a different theme, the ceremony was ‘The Garden’, their cocktail hour as the couple had their photos taken was referred to as ‘The Cane Lawn’, the reception was ‘The Greenhouse’ and the dance floor was ‘The Shed’.
When it came to finding the right dress, Jo kept her search simple. “I only went to two dress shops and narrowed it down to two (very different) choices. I didn’t want to see too many and get overwhelmed by the choice!” At the gorgeous The Babushka Ballerina store in Paddington, Jo tried on the Coco dress from Aussie bridal wear designer Anna Campbell. “As soon as I put on Coco’ by Anna Campbell, my mum and sister started tearing up and I was pretty certain it was the one!”
Their gorgeous venue Willow Farm in Berry enabled the creative couple to bring their own furniture to customise their unique set up. “Amy (the owner of Willow Farm) was a great asset and helped us find some of our key vendors,” Jo mentioned. Of their fav vendors both agreed Jo Jorgensen from Garnish Creative Catering and their fabulous florists from Moss Nest really blew them away. “Last but not least, we were floored when (photographer) Justin Aaron sent us the photos from the day. We feel extremely honoured to have had him there to capture the day,” we couldn’t agree more!
