Together for over six years after meeting on the apps, Jo and Jack hosted their Gold Coast wedding at Rosewood Estate, and the vibe was “Backyard garden party. We wanted the day to feel very relaxed and laid-back but also still a little bit fancy with everyone dressed up and feeling their cutest!”

THE DRESS “I knew I wanted a very simple and classic dress. I ended up falling in love with the first dress I tried on at the first store I went to. The girls at Sphere Bridal Gallery were amazing, and as soon as I tried on Augustine by Lola Varma I knew it was The One. I spent some time trying on other styles, but the whole time was just thinking about that first dress. It felt too easy to be true, but when you know you know, I guess.”
FAVE DETAILS “Bridesmaid’ dresses – we decided not to have a bridal party, but still kept the best bit of getting ready with our people. I had hair and makeup done with my girls, but told them to wear anything that they’d like with zero planning or coordination. I just love how stunning they all looked in their bright coloured dresses and am so in love with our photos together! I am definitely a neutrals fan so wouldn’t have thought to pick something so fun, they absolutely nailed it and looked incredible. Now I’m realising that they actually probably did co-ordinate behind my back.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer Taylor Kezia was simply amazing. She went above and beyond on the day to not only get the most incredible shots, but also help guests, keep us on schedule and help make wardrobe decisions. Taylor really felt like having an old friend there with us on the day, who just happened to take the most stunning photos too. We are both very awkward in front of the camera, but she made us feel so comfortable and we are so in love with our photos.”
THE SUIT “We had so much fun shopping for the suit together, and it was also the first one I tried on at the first store we went to. I wore a black, M.J. Bale linen suit and on the day opted for no tie which worked well with our classic but relaxed vibe.”
REFERENCES “Why Hello May, of course! We loved looking at the real weddings for inspiration and vendor details. We also found a lot online through social media, so for once we could say our scrolling was being productive.”
MARRIAGE MEANS… “We both said ‘family’ at the same time. After being together for a long time, we talked a lot about whether getting married was something we felt we ‘needed’ to do. But we both agreed that we wanted to start our next chapter together as a family and make that commitment to each other in front of our friends and family.
A WORD OF ADVICE “Find yourself a Danielle from Til Death Events! We felt so confident and so relaxed knowing that Danielle was across our day. She was so incredible at helping us plan, coordinating everything on the day and just being so on top of everything (in the most cool, calm, collected way), that we just got to relax and enjoy the fun parts!”
