Coastal cruisers Jayne and Ross opted for an intimate elopement in Byron Bay when it came time to declare their unending love for each other. The 14 strong guest list allowed the couple to tap into their raw emotions with tears flowing freely. Barefoot (bar the brides sweet Forever Soles barefoot sandals), this is our kinda day! The love is pretty darn palpable through Cedar & Salt Photography’s sensational shots. For all the coastal inspo you could ever desire, you best scroll down…

THE VENUE “We wanted to get married in Byron bay as we have family members in both VIC and QLD and we thought this would be a nice middle-ground option. As we were not very familiar with Byron Bay we googled restaurants to help decide. Our prerequisite was as close to the beach as possible. We booked Beach Byron Bay online without viewing it beforehand.”

THE VIBE “The inspiration behind our wedding was to have a small intimate ceremony with only our immediate family members present. We hired a tipi and had it set up on the beach where we had a barefoot ceremony run by my stepfather who is a civil celebrant. We followed this with a beautiful reception meal where we could all relax and enjoy the occasion. We wanted to keep it very low key and really have a chance to connect with our family members.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our photographer [Cedar & Salt Photography] was simply amazing! The whole day poured with rain and we were very fortunate to have our ceremony and some photos amidst a one hour break in the weather. Cheryl made everyone feel exceptionally comfortable during the photos and we left it in her professional hands.”

LITTLE LOL “During our vows Rosco accidentally pronounced my middle name incorrectly, it came out as just a jumble of letters! Everyone was laughing which lightened the mood as it had been very emotional until that point.”

WE’RE GLAD WE “We hired accommodation for our family members at Cape Byron Retreat and it was a fantastic venue. We were very fortunate to book out the whole resort to ourselves for two nights and the management staff went above and beyond to accommodate us.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “Belinda at Beach Byron Bay was an absolute angel and nothing was too much trouble. She made us feel like we had known her for 20 years and could request anything. A seasoned professional in weddings.”
