Whip your wedding planners out friends, because you are going to want to take notes on Holly and Kane’s ultra fab big day. These high school sweethearts had nine years to think long and hard about their wedding and nabbed a whole heap of our fave vendors along the way. Poppy & Fern wrangled blooms whilst The Future Mrs was on makeup. The White Tree spun tunes and Byron View Farm hosted the hinterland ceremony. Absolute gold, right? Now, scroll down and take a peek at the bride’s TWO gorge gowns. Joeseph Willis of Allume Wedding’s captures do not disappoint…
THE VENUE “We always go to Byron Bay for holidays each year and we wanted everyone to be relaxed and have an absolute blast on the day/weekend as we usually do up there. Kane wanted a wedding on the beach and I the hinterland so we compromised and incorporated them both.”
THE VIBE “Bohemian/Hampton was the style we were going for, however, it was all secondary to wanting everyone to have an extremely fun party.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “We absolutely loved our invites from Mickey Loves Jackie which were actually designed by one of my bridesmaids, Liz Miles. Also, our flowers from Jess at Poppy & Fern were exactly what I wanted, especially the hanging piece she did above the bridal table.”
THE DRESS/ES “I found it quite hard with all the Pinterest/Instagram images out there as I was changing my mind like a yoyo. I ended up getting a more traditional gown from One Day Bridal which I loved but it wasn’t the gown I had always pictured myself wearing. So about a month prior to my wedding, I started freaking out that I’d made the wrong choice and I ended up buying a second-hand dress off Still White from Rue De Seine which was long sleeve and something I always imagined myself in. So I ended up wearing one to the ceremony and one to the reception (much to my husband’s horror) and loved every minute in both.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “We loved the idea of a Friday wedding so everyone was free on Saturday for the recovery session. It was also a lot easier to get vendors at shorter notice.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our (well my) absolute favourite vendor was Phoebe Barrett [The Future Mrs], our Makeup Artist. She made myself and all my bridesmaids feel so comfortable about the day and did an absolutely amazing job not only on our makeup but the finishing touches with my veil.”
