Harriette and Huw have been together for eight years and were engaged in a sweet spur of the moment in Copenhagen. An easy-breezy day was on the cards meaning burgers, bare feet, drinks and the ocean were the main focus, aside from the loved up couple, of course. Dane of The Salty Shutter was on hand to capture the cruisey day. Scroll down for some enviable shots…
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our flowers were amazing, The Make Haus nailed our brief and were so easy to work with. The pops of deep red and different textures were stunning.”
DIY… “Yep! Huw designed our invites using a photo my best friend Emma took when we were in Bowral, and of course our rescue greyhound Doug got a feature! They turned out great.”
THE TOP & SKIRT I found my skirt on The Outnet! It was such a fluke, I had been looking at styles on Instagram and knew I wanted a skirt and top. I stumbled across a beautiful British fashion designer, Antonio Bernardi. It was a perfect fit – I just got it taken up a bit to enhance the train and so I didn’t trip while I was barefoot on the bowling green. The top was from Rachel Gilbert. I didn’t try on a single wedding dress!”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “Our favourite moment was meeting up before the ceremony for photos at the Old Clare Hotel in Chippendale. Huw’s friend works at the hotel and gave us 2 nights as a wedding gift. It was so nice to see each other before the wedding, to have a drink, get some photos and chill for a moment. We walked down the aisle together which was pretty special.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “They were all AMAZING! Um, Dane our photographer [The Salty Shutter]! What a legend, he made us feel comfortable the whole day, got the best shots and even drove us to the wedding in his little red car. We were going to uber but this was way more practical! Marcello from Rustic Kitchen did our reception catering (we did a massive grazing table) and went above and beyond with his beautiful fresh meats, cheeses and other antipasti goodness. He even collected our donuts from The Cook and The Baker for us, what a lovely guy. Pauline, my hair and makeup artist was so easy going and smashed out my mum, my sister, my bestie and me in a couple of hours. She was no fuss, like me. The Make Haus was great too, you just trust their vibe and they will deliver. Our ceremony and reception styling was next level. Superior Burgers were chill too, very little admin involved. They made a cute sign for our wedding and kept the burgers coming thick and fast for a couple of hours. Last, but DEFINITELY not least, was our band – Sexy Sunday Jam. We got more compliments about the band than anything else. True crowd-pleasers who made our day/ night”.
