12 years after getting together, these two tied the knot in one beautifully styled wedding by the water that was actually a backup venue, would you believe?! Thanks to COVID lockdowns that “did the dirty on us,” they literally made the decision to change their wedding location (date, time and a fair bit of the aesthetic) a week out from their originally planned date. Incredible, right? Lens lady Paris Hawkin Photography was responsible for all the gorgeous pics, so scroll down, stat, to see more…

THE VENUE “We ended up picking a park that was special to us for the ceremony, and had a great view. Just had to push through council approval in the week! We were fortunate enough that our family offered their backyard as an option for the reception venue. An offer we could not refuse!”

THE INSPO “Initially I wanted a really warm, soft and earthy colour palette, nothing too fancy. However, when we changed venue locations we had to accomodate the colours and textures to suit the venue. Our florist, Alicia of The Wildflower Perth did such an amazing job of incorporating warm hues, with pops of pink and peach to match the bridesmaids and stationary but also contrast the colours of the venue. The matching decor and table settings really tied in and created a beautiful colour scheme.”

FAVE DETAILS “The flowers by The Wildflower Perth. The ceremony arbour flowers and my bouquet were beyond my expectations. Because the wedding was planned in five working days, I had no idea what the new venue, the furniture, stationery and table arrangements would look like together and it was just divine! I loved everything on the wedding tables; the flower arrangements, the candles, the vases, the stationary, cutlery and utensils. When the sun went down, the lights above the dance floor and wedding tables made it so romantic, it was breathtaking.”

THE DRESS “My dress was designed in six months with Brides by Design. Lynette who owns the business was amazing, she not only made me laugh but made my dream dress! I recommend the team highly!

A WORD OF ADVICE “You don’t need a year to plan, you can do it in four days! So don’t stress the small stuff it all comes together and it’s worth every minute of time and effort!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “We especially loved the live oyster shucking station and espresso martinis towards the end of the night which lead to another five hours of dancing with all our beloved friends at family!

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our florist, Alicia (of The Wildflower Perth) went above and beyond. She changed the theme of the flowers last minute, she organised the lighting for us, sourced the arbour, and helped lay out and design the table arrangements. She is such a beautiful soul. Paris Hawkin Photography – she drove nearly three hours to come to our new venue, photographed the night away and then drove three hours home. She captured the essence of our day and I am so grateful for her. Our videographer, Emily, of Life Atlas Film Co, became a friend. Heyder & Shears catering was phenomenal. We booked them four days out from the wedding [and] they were so accomodating and professional and in times of stress they were cool calm and collected. The menu was to die for and their friendly and attentive service, mouthwatering food and impeccable presentation did not go unnoticed.”
