Grab a tissue… heck, grab the whole box because Grace and Heath’s Tasmanian wedding is pure poetry. The lovebirds of “seven wildly loving years” vividly remember the moments just before the formalities began, encircled by friends and fam, catching their first glimpse of each other just as the sun slipped out from behind a cloud, as if to witness the magic too.
“We took a moment to take it all in – the people there for us and the beauty that surrounded us. The space was full of love.”
The pretty pink and red palette is perfection (feat. napkins by our pals Cloth and Confetti). Lilli Waters (aka I Got You Babe) was the lens lady behind these bloody brilliant snaps. We caught up with the couple to hear all about their wedding in Tasmania…
THE PROPOSAL “We were in New Zealand visiting some of Heath’s family. [One evening] Heath’s sister-in-law, Kim, asked about our marriage plans. ‘Why not just choose a date and share it with everyone?’ she said. A few days later, we did just that. We decided it was the right time for us to move into this next phase of our lives. We picked a date and started planning!”
THE VENUE “Four years ago we went to Dark Mofo in Tasmania [and] had made reservations at a handful of restaurants. The Agrarian Kitchen was highest on our list. When we arrived, we were seated along the window, overlooking a grassed area where we would (unbeknown to us at the time) have our ceremony. Savouring our first bottle of orange wine, we revelled in the most divine dishes and exceptional service. ‘If we ever get married, let’s do it here,’ I jokingly said to Heath, so that’s exactly what we did. On the day, The Agrarian Kitchen went above and beyond. and arranged to have [that] same orange wine available for us to enjoy. That was the absolute cherry on top!”
COOL CUSTOM “Our intention for our ceremony was to create a space which gathered the people we love most to help nurture us on this part of our journey. Our dear friends, Chris and Rachael, hosted our ceremony and held space for us, while family and friends were welcomed with a sage cleanse. They wre then asked to form a circle around where we would stand as they arrived. Rachael started our ceremony with an acknowledgment of country and performed a song that she had written. Everyone held their hands to their hearts, acknowledging the space we had created. It was important for us to have a ceremony that was exactly our own, which held significance to us.”
FAVE DETAILS “Walking into our reception to see bundles of flowers perfectly arranged by Lottie Phillips Florist around the fireplace. Our beautifully tall and boldly coloured candles against the pink and red linen dining tables, and, of course, our champagne tower extravaganza!”
