Besties, today we are blessed with the most HEAVENLY destination wedding in Provence, France, courtesy of icons, Georgie and Hugh. Picture a relaxed, summery ceremony by the pool and cocktails in the courtyard… BLISS!
We recently caught up with the newlyweds, who were kind enough to share some BTS bits (including the story behind Georgie’s exquisite Georgia Young Couture gown). Unsurprisingly, they also had heaps of nice things to say about phenom photographer Brontë McVeigh. Grab a spritz and scroll on; you won’t want to rush through this one…
THE VENUE “We took a complete risk on the venue and didn’t even [do] a viewing before booking it! We had seen photos and thought that it looked perfect – somewhere with a beautiful view, a house big enough for both of our families to stay in a secluded location (Hugh’s one non-negotiable was somewhere we could dance all night with no noise restrictions). We already knew we loved the area from spending a week in Provence the year before, so we took the risk. It paid off as the venue was amazing.”
FAVE DETAILS “The flowers! From the baskets of hydrangeas to the eucalyptus and roses at the end of the aisle, everything was beautiful. The afternoon cocktails in the courtyard were a highlight for us. There was such a good atmosphere with everyone enjoying Aperol Spritzes and canapés in the sun, set against the beautiful backdrop of the house.”
THE DRESS “I found my dress in London in the second shop I looked in! It isn’t surprising that I was immediately drawn to Georgia Young Couture as an Australian designer. I loved the asymmetrical neckline and how light and floaty the fabric was while still being a structured, modern design.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Our favourite part of the day was saying our vows in front of family and friends. Our ceremony felt really personal and special having my sister Maddie and Hugh’s best man Tim as our celebrants. It made sense for them to marry us as they know us best.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “If you are planning a destination wedding, invest in a wedding planner. Manon (The Blondy Concierge) had so many connections to vendors and made the whole wedding weekend run seamlessly.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Brontë, our photographer, was the most amazing person we could have had with us at our wedding. Hugh and I are incredibly awkward in photos, and Brontë managed to make us both feel completely relaxed. We had so much fun together. Brontë has such an eye for scouting the best locations, and her genuine love, positive energy and warmth filtered through in all our photos.”
Lucky for you, Brontë McVeigh loves to travel, so whether you’re getting wed home or away, you can get in contact here if you love her style.
