Gather ‘round! We’re revisiting the nuptials of Felicity and Angus (Flick and Gus to their people). A union beautifully captured by Sofia Flinn and seen in our Real Wedding Special Volume 9.

This duo had been together a decade when Gus popped the question in Central Park. Over the following five weeks they jetted around the Northern Hem enjoying those freshly engaged feels before returning home to Melbourne to design Flick’s engagement ring with local legends, Black Finch Jewellers.

In the same vein, both wore VIC-based designers on the big day (Gus in Eddy Elias, Flick in Honeymoon Studios). Grinning ear-to-ear they met at the aisle at The old PaperMill building, later continuing the party at Provenance Wines – two spots steeped in heritage character. “We live in Geelong, and knew we wanted to get married locally and be able to use local vendors,” the newlyweds told us.

Also a must: a big 10-strong bridal party! Below Felicity, shares a standout detail – the pretty in pink bridesmaid posse (wearing Bec + Bridge, Aje, and more), each carrying a unique bouquet. LOVE!

Historic Geelong Wedding Venues: The Old PaperMill & Provenance Wines

“Our ceremony space was absolutely exquisite. The old PaperMill building feels completely untouched. Blue stone, beautiful high ceilings and amazing acoustics. We kept our ceremony space extremely paired back as we didn’t want anything to take away from the scale and beauty of the building. This allowed us to go wild with colour in our amazing florals, which were the centre piece of our ceremony. The same story for our reception space. Provenance [Wines] is also blessed with amazing tall ceilings, we had some wine barrels removed from a beautiful white brick wall which draws your eye up to take in the space.”

Unique Bridesmaid Bouquets by Botanica Fresh Flowers for a Pink-Themed Bridal Party

“Sarah from Botanica Fresh Flowers absolutely nailed our brief. Mine and my bridesmaids’ bouquets were a particular highlight. Each girl had a different dress in a different shade of pink, as well as a mixture of texture and print, so Sarah and I worked closely together to ensure they each had the right pink in their bouquet to pair back with the dress. She absolutely NAILED IT.”

Felicity’s Custom Honeymoon Studios Wedding Dress & Bridal Party Style

“My dress was a three-piece set made by Andria from Honeymoon Studios in Melbourne. Overall, the experience of finding my dress was considerably easy – I knew exactly what I didn’t want. I didn’t want a conventional wedding dress and my number-one prerequisite was that it needed to be something I could dance in all night! I came across Honeymoon Studios only a short time after we got engaged and I instantly knew I would find what I wanted. I booked an appointment and took my sister and mum up to Melbourne for a weekend. We tried one other designer initially but as soon as we got to Honeymoon and I tried on my dress I knew it was it.”

Memorable Wedding Moments: First Look and Ceremony Highlights

“Laying eyes on each other for the first time at the ceremony. A big grin on each other’s face from ear to ear. We’ll never forget that.”

How Geelong’s Local Vendors Created an Unforgettable Wedding

“We’re so glad we embraced our absolute entourage of a bridal party. I had five bridesmaids and Gus had five groomsmen. We had a lot of ‘are you crazy looks’ about this but we absolutely loved having our hype gang around us in the lead up to the big day.”
