If you have ever pondered tying the knot on a fancy boat, floating down the Noosa River at sunset, then you might want to take note. Ewa and Tim’s post-nuptial celebrations took place on the couples very own cruiser, Catalina Noosa (available for hire, people!) and good times were abundant. Why wouldn’t they be with the beyond brilliant Janneke Storm snapping away?! Be sure to scroll down for each and every beaut capture…
FAVOURITE DETAILS “We absolutely loved our invitations[Ivory and Stone], the texture and simplicity. We were also so incredibly happy with our flowers and how both Emma (from Love and Living) and Terry Anne (Mondo Floral Designs) were able to make our vision come to life. They made the reception look exactly how we pictured. It’s hard not mentioned the Catalina in general, as it really added to the theatre of the day.”
THE DRESS “I am incredibly lucky to have been able to wear the dress of my dreams on our big day. Up until a few months before the wedding, I didn’t even know what that dress would look like! I have never really pictured what my wedding dress would look like, I just wanted it to be me but at the same time something I would never get to wear again. A once in a lifetime thing. I was speechless when Timmy’s brother offered to make it and will be forever in his debt for such a special gift. Although I had no idea of where to begin, Adrian made the whole process really special and enjoyable. It was around Christmas time when the whole family was in Noosa, Adrian handed me a glass of wine and we began having a chat. Within a few minutes of chatting and discussing likes and dislikes, Adrian had drawn THE dress and got it first go. It just felt right.”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “Walking along the rocks on the beach with Timmy during our photo session. We come down to these rocks so often to swim and/or surf. In a way, they (the rocks) shaped our relationship so it was so nice to have this location included in the day. Also, returning back to the reception after the photos. We walked down the park and saw all of our family and friends looking out towards us and clapping and cheering us aboard to one of our favourite songs. It’s hard to describe, it was incredibility humbling and we both felt so insanely loved.”
A TOUCH OF TRADITION “I was born in Poland and all my family is Polish so it was really important to both Timmy and I that we incorporate something to reflect that. We did this as soon as we entered the reception venue, where our parents greeted us with bread, which is lightly sprinkled with salt and two shot glasses, one with water and one with vodka. This is what it meant: With the bread, our parents are hoping that we will never hunger or be in need. With the salt, they are reminding us that life may be difficult at times and we must learn to cope with life’s struggles. With the vodka/water, they are hoping we will never thirst and wish that we have a life of good health, and good cheer and share the company of many good friends. And whoever chooses the vodka will, as they say, “wear the pants” in the relationship!” Our parents then kiss us as the newly married couple as a sign of welcome, unity and love.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Don’t skip too much of the traditional ‘wedding stuff’. Originally we said we didn’t want a first dance song, or speeches, we were even considering eloping. Being able to celebrate our commitment to one another in front of our family and friends who helped shape it and listening to all the wonderful speeches really did make the day. Make room for that extra couple/ family member you don’t think you could fit, you will regret it later.”
WE WISH WE… “We really wish we could have invited more people. More family and friends we thought we couldn’t fit.”
